Question: Are you confident in winning the money?

No, I think that all the scientists in this Zone are great and any one of us is capable of winning the money! It would be great to win, but it’s still great taking part!

No! I think anyone here has a good chance of winning – everyone has great ideas for what they would do with the prize, to share the science that they do with school students.

Well, there’s five of us competing for just one prize, so that means that (all other things being equal), I have a 20% chance of winning and an 80% chance of not winning. I’m not sure I’d bet my life savings on winning!
This is the first time I’ve done anything related to communicating science to young people, so I’m on a very steep learning curve, but I would be very pleased, obviously, if I did win!
