• Question: did you ever be a science teacher before you became a scientist?

      No – I have thought about retraining as a science teacher though. For the moment I’m planning to stick with my current job. I do get to do some teaching, but it’s teaching to undergraduate physics students rather than school students. It’s really interesting to see how people learn, and I’d like to do more of it!

      No, I have never been a science teacher, but I do go out to schools and do workshops with lots of different aged school students, and I also teach a little here at the university

      No – but I teach science at university as well as doing scientific research.

      Some of my colleagues, though, did teach science in schools before becoming research scientists.
