• Question: Do you think worm holes on space realy exist?

      I don’t know much about them, but yes, I do think they exist, I’m hoping that one of the other scientists will be able to tell me if I am silly to believe this!!!

      We don’t have any direct evidence that wormholes exist, but theoretical physics predicts that they do – they form when spacetime curves round on itself so much that it’s possible to make a little tunnel through it. I’m not a cosmologist so I won’t attempt to describe why they think this is possible!

      One of their most exciting implications is that they could allow us to travel faster than light (because you take a short-cut through spacetime) and so could allow time travel. Because of this wormholes are often used in science fiction – like the wormhole in Star Trek: Deep Space 9 and in Stargate. Freaky stuff! 😀

      Yes. Theoretically they seem possible under General Relativity, and the Universe is a big place…
