      Hi James – this year I was on an expedition that went to an undersea volcano near Antarctica that was about half a mile high on the seafloor.

      I’ve been to bigger ones that are now extinct, but that was the largest one that was still active (it wasn’t actually erupting while we were there, but it had erupted recently, maybe even during the past year, and may do again soon).
