      I don’t know how old you are at the moment, but my advice would be to do at least GCSE double award science, and triple if you can. If you know which area of science you’re interested in (biology, physics etc) it’s not too early now to check out university courses and see what A levels you need for those subjects. For example, for Physics you’d normally need A levels in Maths and Physics, and Chemistry and Further Maths are useful too. There are lots of different science courses at university beyond the “traditional” subjects, things like Forensic science, so don’t forget about them.

      Also, there’s lots of different paths into a career in science, and lots of different jobs apart from working in research in a university! I didn’t take a traditional path, so never give up, and it’s never too late!
