I do lots of different experiments, it depends on each question I am asking. I often measure the growth of bacteria under lots of different conditions to see how they are afftected. Often I break up the bacteria to look at specific parts of the cell such as the cell surface, the membrane or the middle of the cell, then I seperate the proteins so I can look at which ones are affected.

I have also done quite a lot of work with DNA, making mutations in the genes I am interested in to see how that affects growth and proteins. There is also a lot of work on the computer.
