All over – one of the great things about my job is all the places I get to go to. So far I’ve worked in the Atlantic south of the Azores several times, in the Pacific off the coast of Oregon, in the Indian Ocean near Sumatra, in the Southern Ocean around Antarctica a few times, in the Gulf of Mexico a lot, and most recently in the middle of the Caribbean.

Next year I’m back in the Southern Ocean near Antarctica for a couple of months, and then later in the middle of the Indian Ocean in the autumn, before going to the Caribbean again in early 2012.

Each area is different, and we’ve only seen a tiny fraction of the ocean floor anywhere, so there’s always lots that’s new to see on every trip.

One part of the ocean I haven’t been to yet is the Arctic Ocean – but I hope to get there soon.
