Question: why do we have to learn sex education in year 6

Hi doggirl
Year 6 is about age 10-11 isn’t it – final year of primary school? That seems a good time to me – at around that age lots of kids will be starting puberty and I think it’s a good idea that they know what’s happening to their bodies and why, and to start understanding a bit about adult relationships.
Do you think that’s too early or too late?

That’s a good question doggirl, and I guess it can be embarrassing, but sex education is not only about sex, it’s also all about how your body is changing, and how to stay healthy so it’s really important that we all learn about that, and I think that year 6 is a good time to start!
